On Wednesday

I have not blogged in a while. I had been holding off because there were pictures on my camera that I wanted to download and blog about. Well that never got done...and I can't even remember what the pictures were or what I wanted to blog about! LOL....so I decided today....my memories are going to leave me if I don't blog them soon! After all...I'm getting older...and some of my friends out there in blog land know what that is about....(not naming any names ok Sharon?) LOL

Anyways....on Wednesday evening around 9:00 I decided that I had to go to Aulac to get gas for the van as it was about 9 cents a litre cheaper there than in Nova Scotia AND gas was going up 5 cents a litre at midnight. So I asked Tanya if she wanted to drive...you know...practice and all of that. Considering that I very seldom EVER let anyone else drive....that had to be GOD!

On the way home, just past Frenchy's there was a spot-check road block set up. Of course we stopped and the police man shone his little flashlight in the van and checked us out, and then shone it on our inspection sticker and asked us to pull over! So Tanya turned into the little road beside the roadblock and when the police man came over he asked to see her licence, registration and insurance which we kindly passed over! Then he said....your inspection sticker is a little out-dated. I asked by how much....he said it ran out in December 2008! Then he kindly told Tanya that since she was driving he would have to ticket her because it was her responsibility before driving it to ensure that everything is in order such as registration, insurance and inspection.

Well Tanya laid her beautiful little head right on the steering wheel and started crying. She said..."I'm not having such a good day today. I was supposed to go for my drivers licence and now this." He said...well things usually happens in threes....I think Tanya started crying a little harder then and said...well it's only the second. So then the policeman shines his little light at me and asks who owns the vehicle. I said my husband and I do. He said....if you don't contest the ticket, don't take it to court....I'll actually ticket you instead of Tanya...even though it is a non-moving violation and would not affect her insurance. I said "ok...but couldn't you just let me take the van in tomorrow and have it inspected?" He said "Well ma'am...it's not like it is only 1 month over-due! It is now 5 months over due!" Tanya turned to me and said "Mom, I'll give you back the $20 you gave me for Youth Convention!". I said "That's all right Tanya, don't worry about it!" The nice-policeman then said...."well...I'll tell you what...if you think that you can have the vehicle inspected tomorrow...I'll just give you a warning!" So I promised, he wrote the warning ticket (in Tanya's name!) and we were on our merry way. The ticket could have cost $167.50

Thankfully he didn't give me that ticket....because when I had the vehicle inspected on Thursday, it actually cost me $255 because there was one thing that needed to be fixed! So that inspection could have cost me $422.

You know it was God that Tanya was driving....cause if it would have been me....I'm sure that the police officer wouldn't have had any sympathy! LOL
