Life in General

Ok....so I am quite proud of myself today. Yesterday morning when I left for work I didn't have a single gift wrapped for either of my children. (Ok, they are not children anymore, they are 16 and 18....but they are still my babies!) Back to the topic at hand though!

Last night when I went to bed, every gift that I have purchased for them is wrapped. I dropped off all of Scott's gifts at my parents house at lunch time yesterday and my dad wrapped them all. After work, I took all of Tanya's gifts and my dad and I sat and wrapped them. Then I PILED them all in my van and took them home and placed them under my tree. So now, my living room is a sea of lime green wrapped and blue wrapped gifts.

I have a method to my madness....I don't put name tags on my kids gifts....I wrap Tanya's gifts in all one color (every year it is different), and Scott's gifts are wrapped in a different color. Last year it was Red paper with snowmen for Tanya and Blue paper with snowmen for Scott. This year it is plain paper....lime green and blue. That leaves them guessing as to who's gifts are whos! To bad my parents wouldn't have thought of that when I was a child...because I used to open all my gifts and re-wrap them while they were at work! LOL.....although that wouldn't have even worked one year....because I opened theirs too and rewrapped.....they had no clue until Christmas morning and I made the mistake of "guessing the right color sweater in a gift!" lol.

Isn't Christmas fun? I love Christmas! I love to give gifts....but any friend of mine knows that I don't like to be surprised with a gift! In fact...if you give me a gift before Christmas, rest assured that I will have peeked in the gift and re-wrapped and placed it under the tree!

  1. That's why I don't buy you gifts. This way neither of us is offended. LOL!

  2. I got a gift today from a very good friend! I know exactly what is in that gift now...and it will be under the tree for me to open on Christmas morning (or eve) :-)

  3. Somehow I have a feeling if the gift has a certain ingredient in it (cho.......) it probably won't make it back under the tree.
