Well...the adventure has come and gone! Let me tell you a little about my experience!
We (Tanya and I) arrived at the airport at approximately 5 a.m. on Monday morning and proceeded to wait in line to check in. There were a lot of people at the airport at that time! WoW....doesn't anyone sleep now-a-days? Because I didn't have our e-tickets...I was sent to another counter for them. The girl at that counter told me that the check in counter would be closing in 15 minutes. Not a big deal right? WRONG...because Mitzi hadn't arrived at the airport yet! I asked the girl if I could check Mitzi in. She said...NO...Mitzi has to be here to check in in person. So...Tanya and I proceeded to wait for Mitzi....approximately 10 minutes went by and I went up to the desk to plead with the girl to let me check Mitzi in. As I did this...another lady came to me and said that the girl who had given me the first bit of information was incorrect....the check-in counter would actually be closing in 45 minutes.....however, because the airport was so busy...Tanya and I should proceed through Security. I wanted to wait for Mitzi....but she said it would be best if we didn't.....she did promise me that she would let Mitzi know we had gone through Security. Depart Tanya and Carolyn to go through Security.
Enter Mitzi through the swinging doors!....and Mitzi waits and waits and waits for Tanya and Carolyn to arrive....not knowing that they have arrived. Finally Mitzi goes to the counter and says....I'm looking for my friends can you tell me if they have checked in yet? The lady says....Oh...are you Mitzi? "yes".......Well your friends have gone through Security....!!!!!!!!!!!! So Mitzi checks in, goes through security and finds me waiting anxiously at the top of the stairs for her....we wait for Tanya to get through the line-up at Tim Hortons (she has already been in this line up for 20 minutes!)...and then we head to our gate!
Our plane is on time and we proceed through boarding. Unfortunately, our seats are not together and we seperate for the four hour flight. The flight is un-eventful...we get to watch the Twilight movie, eat a breakfast sandwich of some kind and snooze for a bit. When we finally touch down in Cuba.....everyone applauds.....and the fun begins!
Tell you more on the next blog! Love Carolyn
